11/18/15  Wednesday

Beautiful warm morning. David and Dale were into their project hound mentality pretty early. Today's project was to install the smart battery something...which lets us know how charged the boat's batteries are..which lets s know if we can keep the refrigerator on or if weneed to conserve energy. And, it will let us know if or how effectively the solar panels are working. So much new information available.

I did my morning yoga on the dock, emptied the chain locker in the bo of the boat, laid out the line to dry in the sun and discovered that the 250' of chain was ALL attached to one of the anchors...rather than being available to sell. My biceps are stronger for the work. Then I took off on foot to find the Coastal Community Market which was supposed to be open at 11 AM. Found it. Waited. It did not open by 11:15 so I left to search out a relatively cheap place for lunch sandwiches.

The men had finished their project and were ready for lunch by my return so we went. We ate outside in the warmth! Perfect. We walked hoping to find a state map for Dale. No luck. He packed his car including some stuff that we needed to rid ourselves of and we said goodbye.

I so enjoyed our evening conversations sitting up in the pilot house or down around the galley table. Far ranging conversations about government, police brutality, Youtube evidence and how those home videos/smartphone movies change our prespective of news reporting, individual rights in conflict w/community rights, Obama's use of drones and how his choices have changed with new information...on and on...how we hold values and live by/with them in the face of having to make the least bad of bad options, how do we compromise to get the best possible results without loosing our center...wonderful opportunity to hear and be heard and to continue to respect and love. Deep sigh of love, of family.
Cousin Dale was our 2nd overnight boat guest.
And then Stacy and Ken Miller arrived. We had just enough time to redistribute the fo'c'sle tools and stuff we store there and make the berths into a double. Another perfect (enough)! Great to have our 3rd and 4th guests arrive. We settled them, visited, went to the food store and then to a "new beer release party" with steamed oysters and, of course, the new beer. Re-met Candice from the laundromat, her daughter, Sarah, and husband, Ollie who had supplied some of the oysters. Then dinner and home to the boat.

loving my/this life.
